So You Want to Bring Your Baby to Disney...

Good!! If you're anything like me, you've probably been met with a few skeptical comments or raised eyebrows when you told others you were going to attempt a theme park day with an infant. Well, I’m here to say DO IT! I’m going to help you prepare so your visit is as smooth as possible, so you can make those magical memories without unnecessary stress.

Planning your Disney trip can feel a bit overwhelming at first. You can be excited for the magic of meeting the characters and seeing your baby's face light up, while simultaneously feeling stressed about how to manage baby's naps and ensure they don't get overheated. But trust me, with the right preparation, you’ll be able to enjoy your day to the fullest.

My Top Product Picks for Disney with a Baby

After booking your hotel, flights, and tickets, you might be thinking I HAVE SPENT ENOUGH! I get it! I'm breaking it down to just a few purchases that will make your trip significantly smoother.

1. LILLEBaby Carrier

Hands down, the LILLEBaby Carrier is my number one must-have. I use this product in my daily life, but it is an absolute game-changer when you’re navigating crowded parks. This carrier has a built-in seat that supports your baby, which is a lifesaver. My kids were big babies (both 10 pounds at birth), and this carrier allowed me to wear them comfortably without back pain. It’s perfect for Disney because most ride lines don’t allow strollers, and you can't bring them to restaurants or shows. Disney has so many rides your little one can go on, and this carrier allows you to know your baby is comfortable and secure so you can enjoy the drop on Pirates of the Caribbean, or have your hands free to dance with your little one on The Little Mermaid. This is also my favorite product because both of my babies have LOVED contact naps and this carrier allows you to wear them through the lines, on the rides, and as you walk the park with an ice cream - all while they get their nap in.

Why I love it:

  • My babies' favorite nap spot

  • Adjustable carrying positions (front-facing or back)

  • Built-in sunshade

  • Comfortable and secure for both baby and parent

  • Shockingly breathable - just say no to back sweat.

  • A real back-saver, especially during long days at the park

2. Packing Cubes for Easy Organization

You can try to consolidate as much as possible, but between diapers, wipes, changes of clothes, etc., let's face it... you're gonna be bringing a lot of stuff. Packing cubes are a lifesaver when you’re organizing all the baby gear. These compact containers keep everything neat and easily accessible. I also love these cubes because I completely avoided bringing a diaper bag by throwing these under the bottom of the stroller. It was so nice not having the extra weight of wearing a bag and being able to quickly grab exactly what I needed when we entered a restaurant or had a quick diaper change.

I bought the multicolored pack of these cubes so I could color code mine for a quick reminder of which bag meant what.

  • Red: Restaurant - snacks, bibs, etc.

  • Purple: Potty - Diapers, wipes, cloth, etc.

  • Yellow: Sun Protection - sunscreen, hats, glasses, layers

  • Blue, and Green: Miscellaneous

3. Stroller Fan to Keep Baby Cool

Disney is hot, and keeping your baby (and in my case, my husband) cool is key to an enjoyable day. A stroller fan is an absolute must. Look for a lightweight, compact model that clips easily onto your stroller. It should have adjustable speeds, rechargeable batteries, and safety features like no exposed blades. These fans help cool down your baby, which means fewer fussy moments and a more enjoyable day for the whole family. There are a lot of options, but my favorite is the RYOBI fan. It can be a little pricier, but if you already have RYOBI products, you can use the same rechargeable battery. The battery also lasts ALL day and it puts out some serious power. We use these each trip and have bought multiple to also use on the golf course or by the pool.

If you want a less expensive option, I also recommend this! The design allows the fan to be easily adjusted and angled towards your sweet baby.

4. A Reliable Stroller

Important to note: Disney does not allow wagons without ADA approval. Also - if you are planning on renting or don't have the BOB stroller already, don't be discouraged. As long as you plan accordingly, you can make any stroller work! However, if you have the travel space, I cannot recommend the BOB jogging stroller enough. We have the single BOB, and quickly purchased the double as soon as we found out we were pregnant with our second. We affectionately call our Double BOB Robert as he is a family staple. This stroller is so easy to maneuver and is easy to push without breaking your back. I also love that it has the ability to lay back with just the pull of a string, as my toddler sometimes fights naps at Disney. She'll want to look around, but when she finally closes her eyes, I'm able to lay her down and continue the nap as we walk.

  • Good maneuverability: You’ll need to weave through crowds.

  • Ample storage: You'll need room for snacks, toys, and extra clothing.

  • Adjustable seating: Perfect for nap times in between attractions.

Having the right stroller helps you move easily and gives your baby a comfortable place to rest when needed. Plus, many strollers come with built-in sunshades, which can be a big help on those hot Florida days.

5. Stroller Clips, Snack Cups, and Stroller Toys for Convenience
To make your day even easier, invest in stroller clips and snack cups. Stroller clips let you attach bags and personal items directly to the stroller, freeing up your hands. Snack cups allow you to feed your baby on the go without (some of) the mess. Choose cups with lids to minimize spills and make sure they’re easy for your baby to hold. I love the ZAK cups for toddlers as the straw is spill proof. For babies, I'm team Munchkin! Snacks like small fruit pieces or puffed snacks are perfect for keeping your little one happy as you explore the park.

If your baby isn’t eating solids yet, don’t worry—you can still keep them entertained with stroller toys. Crinkle toys are a great option as they’re lightweight, easy to hold, and provide sensory stimulation. Your baby can enjoy the textures and sounds while you navigate the park. I love the ones linked below as it comes with multiple in a pack and they make a soft jingle that isn't too overstimulating.

6. Mid-Day Lunch Reservations to Escape the Heat

One of the best tips I can give is to plan a mid-day lunch reservation. The Florida heat can be overwhelming, and having a nice, cool place to sit down for a meal makes all the difference. Each baby is different. If your baby is able to easily nap while you wear them, schedule your reservation around this time. If your baby needs a full meal before they nap this is a great time to allow them the focused meal and get a break from the heat. One of my restaurant must haves are a disposable table mat. If your baby has started finger foods, this is the best as you don't have to worry about them dropping plates on the ground, plus it's sanitary.

Final Thoughts

While visiting Disney with a baby takes extra planning, it’s totally worth it. With a little organization and the right gear, you’ll be able to enjoy all the magic while keeping your baby comfortable. Don’t let anyone talk you out of it – your little one may not remember the trip, but the pictures will always bring a smile to their face and you’ll treasure the memories forever.
