Essential Packing Tips for a Stress-Free Disney Trip with Toddlers
Disney with a toddler can feel overwhelming—but the right packing list makes all the difference. Here’s exactly what I bring to keep my kids happy, cool, and meltdown-free, plus a few things I’ve learned to leave at home. Real tips from a mom who’s done it.
The Only Disney Packing List You Need for Toddlers
(So You Can Actually Enjoy the Magic!)
Taking a toddler to Disney is magical—but let’s be honest… it can also feel overwhelming. Between the heat, long lines, and unpredictable toddler moods, having the right things with you can truly make or break your day.
After doing Disney with little ones, I’ve learned what’s actually worth packing—and what just takes up space. This is my go-to Disney packing list for toddlers so you can focus on the fun!
Pro tip: If you're short on time, you can scroll to the bottom for my quick grab-and-go list of my top 10 must bring items.
Snacks (Your Secret Weapon)
You can bring food into Disney—take advantage of that! Not only does bringing food save you money, but you have snacks conveniently when hunger strikes.
We live on:
Uncrustables
Fig bars
Applesauce pouches
The goal is something filling without a sugar overload. Save the sugar rush for those adorable Mickey ice cream bar moments.
Pro tip: Snacks aren’t just food—they’re a distraction, a reset, and sometimes your best parenting tool in line. Try to save them for midway through a line or when waiting for a show to start!
Beat the Heat (This One Matters More Than You Think)
Florida heat is no joke, especially with toddlers.
Reusable Water Bottle
Save money on buying water and help ensure your toddler stays hydrated!
Bring a water bottle your child is excited about.
Pro tip: let your child pick out a new Disney-themed cup before the trip! The excitement of drinking from a cup with their favorite character on it can help ensure they drink enough water throughout the day.
Stroller Fans
We’ve tried a lot of stroller fans, and honestly? We may look a little silly, but we LOVE our Ryobi fans. They can be a little pricey, but we love using these on the stroller, at the pool, on the golf course and more. We've had countless people stop and ask where we got them because we always look so comfortable!
If that's a little out of your budget, don't be discouraged, a budget model can still be a huge help. I just recommend:
One fan per child (or stroller seat)
One fan for the parent pushing the stroller
Not only do these help prevent toddler meltdowns… they’ve prevented a few husband meltdowns too.
Wipes (Bring More Than You Think)
Between snacks, rides, and just existing in a theme park… everyone gets dirty.
Bring:
A full pack of wipes
Hand sanitizer
This is one of those things you will use all day long.
Change of Clothes (Don’t Skip This)
I’ve done Disney with my kids at all ages. I've navigated Disney days with a 2 month-old all the way up to older kids. A change of clothes is such a helpful tool to have!
We’ve had:
Potty training accidents
Melted ice cream disasters
Sweat-through-everything moments
A quick outfit change in the afternoon can completely reset everyone’s mood.
And if you’re visiting during cooler months, evenings can get chilly—so having that extra layer helps too. Especially if you're trying to make it to the fireworks show.
The “Grab-and-Go” Changing Kit
If you have kids in diapers, this is a game changer.
Instead of digging through your entire bag, use a small grab-and-go bag with:
Diapers
Wipes
Changing pad
When it’s time for a diaper change:
Park stroller → grab pouch → go
Even with older toddlers, I still pack:
Wipes
A pull-up (especially in the early days of potty training when I'm worried about naps, long lines, or getting stuck on a ride. I also bring one in case my toddler falls asleep in the stroller. My kids were always daytime potty trained before they could hold it while sleeping.)
Which brings me to my final tip....
My “Hot Take” (You Might Disagree… But Hear Me Out)
I don’t bring a diaper bag into Disney.
Before you stop reading please hear me out... I have a 3 year old, a 2 year old and a soon to be newborn. I am in PRIME diaper bag years. Here's why I'm still anti-theme park diaper bag:
You are walking A LOT.
It is HOT.
A heavy diaper bag = extra weight + extra sweat.
You might be carrying or wearing one of your kids throughout the day too.
Just say NO to extra weight and extra things to hold.
What I Do Instead:
I use small, color-coded pouches in the bottom of the stroller:
Red = Restaurant (snacks + disposable placemats)
Purple = Potty (diaper/change essentials)
Yellow = My firstborn's favorite color so her toys, change of clothes, etc.
Blue = My second-born's favorite color so her toys, change of clothes, etc.
It makes everything:
faster
lighter
way more organized
Instead of digging through one big bag, you just grab what you need and go.
Complete List
I have a handful of other items that I bring, but I'm sure you want to stop reading and start planning! So to make things as easy as possible, here's my condensed list of items and why I recommend them. I also linked each item to Amazon because if I can't have it delivered to my front door while managing my household... I don't want it!!
MY TOP TEN!
Ziploc Bags = Wanna save some of the chicken fingers and fries your kid didn't finish? Throw it in a ziploc bag. It is so MUCH easier to put in your bag or stroller than having a to-go box and it'll double as a snack later.
A good carrier = depending on the age of your kid this could be 100% necessary. I've had Disney days where my older child wanted to be out and about the whole time but my youngest NEEDED naps and wouldn't do them in the stroller. This is my favorite carrier because it has a built in seat which is so helpful for your back!
Snack Cups = these snack cups can be super helpful when splitting snacks or before your toddler can hold a full snack without spilling
Snacks = Our favorites include fig bars, uncrustables, and apple sauce
Water Bottle = Get a fun Disney water bottle to encourage your kid to stay hydrated!
Stroller Fan = Beat the heat with one of my favorite stroller fans. Splurge with this Ryobi or Budget with this useful fan.
Wipes = We love the giant pack of Costco wipes
Change of Clothes = Bring extra underwear and a shirt and shorts
Jacket or Rain jacket = weather permitting. Plan accordingly if staying all day! Here are my go to ponchos to wear in emergency and then throw away when the Florida sun returns!
Color coded packing bags = don't lug around a heavy diaper bag. Throw these packing bags in the bottom of your stroller.
